Master Pastry Chef, Shane Smith has over 20 years’ experience working in some of the world’s most celebrated pastry kitchens across the globe. The Co. Cavan native also works closely with Coole Swan Irish Liqueur as a consultant and lead recipe developer for the renowned Irish cream liqueur and has exclusively published recipes in 20 of the company’s signature cookery books.
He is a regular contributor to well-known national publications including The Irish Times, Image magazine, Easy Food Magazine and the Sunday Business Post. Shane also writes a monthly column for the Anglo Celt newspaper.
Shane has previously held the position of head pastry Chef in Knockranny house hotel in Westport, the 5* g Hotel in Galway and Fallon & Byrne in Dublin to name a few.
In September 2015, Shane was awarded the title of “Best Bakery Manager in Ireland” in conjunction with Shelflife magazine and in 2018 was voted in the top 10 best pastry chefs in Ireland by Food & Wine Magazine. He is a regular at some of Ireland’s most prestigious food festivals including Taste of Dublin, Bloom, Taste of Cavan and many more. Shane also has a regular cookery slot on The Today Show with Maura & Dáithíon RTÉwhere he can be seen bringing his fun, natural flare and love for all things sweet to the nation’s homes.
