The Festival

The Galway International Food and Craft Festival will showcase the unique diversity that the west of Ireland has to offer. From artisan restaurants, organic and fresh food producers to international cuisine. All of which are available both here in Galway and the surrounding counties. It will raise awareness and offer fantastic exposure for the rapidly growing food culture in the west of Ireland.

A key feature of the festival will see a big focus on the emerging craft beer and boutique beverage market where unique brews, interesting flavours and textures can be enjoyed.

To compliment this offering we be celebrating the creativity of the region with our indigenous crafts and live entertainment. There is something for the entire family with live music and our dedicated kids zone.

A Celebration

A festival for those who have an appreciation of fresh food, great flavours and diverse cultures, this festival will promote Galway as a destination for exceptional cuisine, crafts and unique brews and flavours, while highlighting the importance of moderation, healthy eating, fitness and wellbeing. Our goal is to achieve this by running this festival as a celebration of the cultures surrounding us in the west of Ireland.

The Galway International Food and Craft festival will feature all traditional and emerging food and beverage subcategories, from veganism and gluten free, to free range and grass fed poultry and beef. Healthy eating and cooking demonstrations designed to highlight how all of these successfully combine is a key focus of the festivals.

We are so excited to welcome some of Irelands leading chefs and authors to cook for you in our demonstration marquee where there is seating for 300 people. 14 of the most talented chefs in the country will be on hand over three days, led by none other than Neven Maguire, Rachel Allen and Kevin Dundon.

Our live music stage, the beating heart of the festival where some of Irelands leading musicians will keep us entertained with toe tapping tunes, traditional ballads and plenty of surprises along the way. Stay tuned for more updates on who will be playing.

Keeping the kids entertained won’t be a problem. Our kids zone is jam packed full of great activities for children of all ages. A diverse array of vendors with amazing confectionary delights and hand made ice creams, will no doubt fuel the energy levels for a day of laughter and games.

We would like to sincerely thank Galway City Council for all of their support and assistance in sanctioning the Galway International Food and Craft Festival this summer.

It promises to be a spectacular event with scale and diversity, and a must visit for anyone with an interest in fresh produce, cooking, crafts and entertainment. Without the help of the city council and all of our stakeholders it simply wouldn’t be possible.
